The Village of Sea Cliff – Scudders Pond (2013-2014)

Posted in Civil Services, Environmental Services

Dredged and removed over 5,000 cubic yards of contaminated material from the pond to improve storm runoff capacity.  GBI then removed many invasive plant species with both mechanical methods and Herbicide.  The shoreline of the pond was then rebuilt using imported sand and replenished with locally grown native plant species to combat the invasive plants from re-growing.  The collapsed weir was reconstructed to maintain original elevation of upper pond. GBI improved storm drainage and installed a Terre Kleen Water Quality Unit to remove sediment from storm water runoff to prevent future infill of the pond.
